About this course
Having a baby wind up with an NICU stay can be an overwhelming, scary, frustrating and isolating experience for many families. This community was designed by a neonatal nurse who has worked directly with families in crisis for over 15 years, and has a true passion for helping improve the NICU experience through education, information, connection, community and support.
This course will explore a range of topics from:
- Admission to the NICU
- Mom's discharge home
- Making the hospital a home away from home
- Surviving the ups and downs and inconsistencies
- Balancing other children
- How to manage other life responsibilities
- Balancing relationships
- Preparing for discharge
- Life after the NICU
We also currently have a special added section related to the Covid-19 pandemic, and how families can cope during visitation restrictions and social isolation!
This course will offer time for reflection, sharing stories, learning from others, and having the chance to ask any question you have to a professional who has worked in this field and wants to help you get through this time!
